I have been a teacher of the Chinese language for over 15 years in Australia, Taiwan, and the US. I studied Chinese at Taipei University and Nanjing University, and also completed a Post Graduate degree in Language Acquisition in Adelaide, South Australia. My interests are writing curriculum, thinking up creative and fun ways to teach Chinese, and of course teaching students of all ages to appreciate the wonderful culture of the Chinese people. I have taught all grade levels, beginning with preschoolers, and most recently taught Chinese to High school students. Sometimes the teacher of a language can be an isolating experience. I am committed to bringing teachers of Chinese together online and sharing information about the successes and barriers to teaching Chinese in the classroom. Currently I am writing a brand new curriculum called "Chinese Monster Magic" that integrates reading, writing and speaking skills for students in Grades K-8. The first 10 Modules are completed and include themes - "Let's have a party", "On the Bus", and "Run, jump, Hop". I love developing creative and fun learning activities for students and teachers, and would welcome feedback about the Modules.
