The Confucius Institute at SF State and San Francisco Unified School District are organizing the 8th Chinese Language Bridge Cup Contests and Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters and Education Office of the Consulate General of the P.R. China will sponsor the events.

The contests will take place from February 11 through March 03, 2012. Events will include: Chinese brush/pen calligraphy, Chinese painting/drawing, Chinese composition, Chinese-English/English-Chinese translation, and Chinese poetry recital.

The purpose of the contests is to provide more opportunities for our students to demonstrate their linguistic and cultural talents, and showcase their interest and achievements in learning Chinese language and culture with help from their teachers and parents. We hope that the study of Chinese will not just connect American students with the language, but also with the culture, literature, and rich history of China.
