It is an excellent book. The emphasize on conversational skills rather than characters is very helpful for beginners in the Chinese language. The book is one that I will keep for future references, as well as continue studying from it, to go back and review things. The readings in the book are interesting and the vocabulary learned, important and useful. The exercises are also very good.
