This presentation was delivered at CAIS Institute's 2008 Administrator Workshops, by SFUSD Multilingual Program Administrator Margaret Peterson. It provides an overview of the ACTFL National Proficiency Standards and how they should be used for language learning. Also discussed are the 5 C's of language learning, and a discussion of what standards mean for each user group in education: administrators, teachers, parents, and students.
